Why it exists

Investigators in fraud, compliance, OSINT and journalism spend their days connecting dots: who owns what, who paid whom, who called whom. The tools built for this are powerful but heavy, expensive, and usually locked to one desktop. Many people end up with spreadsheets and whiteboards instead.

Minotrace is a modern take on those tools: fast, visual, and private by design. Your boards stay in your browser, and when you share one, it's end-to-end encrypted. Minotrace is built with AI-assisted development, but no AI processes your boards.

Who builds it

Built by Herbert Moroni, who has spent more than 15 years building software for investigations: link analysis that turns court-ordered bank and phone records into patterns, facial recognition for police investigations, real-time border security with license-plate cameras, and fraud case management for a large bank. That work has served more than 20 government agencies and financial institutions, including as CTO. He's the author of six technical books. Minotrace is his independent project, built from scratch: a modern, private take on the tools investigators use every day.
